YP Nexus: Crypto and the Future of Currency
About This Event
Laura Shin, crypto journalist and host of the podcast Unchained, demystifies the world of digital currency and predicts where the crypto craze is headed. In October 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper outlining a tamperproof, peer-to-peer internet money transaction model that could bypass banks. The rest is unfinished financial history. Cryptocurrency has captivated and confused economists, investors, and fintech fans the world over. With a global market cap of $3 trillion in 2021, and expectations to grow significantly, these disrupting and decentralizing new currencies are still mysterious to most. Shin joins the Council with crypto attorney, Nelson Rosario to examine their unfolding impact on the global economy.
