About This Event

What can a framework of impunity vs. accountability tell us about the multidimensional challenges facing Africa? What are the striking similarities and pitfalls in how governments handle issues like human rights, economic exploitation and environmental degradation? And how can we build systems and cultures of accountability? Join Arnauld Akodjenou, Oby Ezekwesili, Maina Kiai and Corinne Momal-Vanian as they use the Atlas of Impunity as a lens to discuss the rule of law and accountability in Africa.

The Chicago Council and the Eurasia Group recently launched the world’s first Atlas of Impunity report, a comprehensive index scoring 197 countries and territories on their abuse of power across five key societal dimensions.

This discussion is part of a four-part series of regional discussions in partnership with the Kofi Annan Foundation, an independent non-profit which works to create a fairer and more peaceful world.
