Heather Hurlburt has spent her career bridging the gap between international affairs and American politics. From 2022 to 2024, she served as chief of staff to US Trade Representative Katherine Tai, overseeing strategy and management for the agency carrying out President Biden's worker-centered trade policy. Previously, she founded and led New America's New Models of Policy Change project and held senior positions at the International Crisis Group and Human Rights First. She is widely published, previously serving as a regular columnist for New York Magazine's Daily Intelligencer, and she co-founded the Leadership Council for Women in National Security.
