About This Event

Elissa Slotkin, US representative from Michigan and former intelligence and defense official under Presidents Bush and Obama, draws on her expertise with the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees. She joins the Council to share her insights on foreign policy, from the legacy of the wars in Afghanistan and Ukraine, to combatting the mounting problem of domestic terrorism, to the introduction of the bipartisan INTEL at Our Borders Act.

Representative Elissa Slotkin serves Michigan’s Eighth Congressional District. Previously, she spent her career in national service, serving as a Middle East analyst with the CIA and working alongside the US military as a militia expert during three tours in Iraq. Slotkin has held various defense and intelligence positions under President Bush and President Obama, including roles at the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Pentagon.
