Mark Rutte
Secretary General of NATO
Mark Rutte became the 14th secretary general of NATO on October 1, 2024. Prior to joining NATO, he served as prime minister of the Netherlands from 2010 to 2024, making him the longest-serving Dutch prime minister to date.
Matthew G. Whitaker
United States Permanent Representative to NATO
Matthew G. Whitaker has served as US permanent representative to NATO since April 2025. He previously served as acting attorney general of the United States from 2018 to 2019, after serving as chief of staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
President & Chief Executive Officer, Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Dr. Leslie Vinjamuri joined the Council in 2025 as the president and chief executive officer, after previously serving as director of the US and the Americas program at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, known as Chatham House, in London. She is Professor of Practice in International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS University of London.
