Will President Biden be able to stick with diplomacy in Ukraine? While reinforcing NATO allies is part of the US national security structure, "Ukraine is outside of that," says Senior Fellow Elizabeth Shackelford on BBC World. "But it doesn’t mean that it’s not in the US national security interest to support Ukraine in many other ways short of intervening militarily."

"Whatever happens is probably going to be very damaging for the people of Ukraine, whether it’s a military invasion or some other cyberattack. There is going to be, unfortunately, suffering. And hopefully the rest of the world will help deter further action,”" says Shackelford.
