About Thomas G. Weiss
Thomas G. Weiss is a former distinguished fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and presidential professor of political science at the City University of New York's Graduate Center. He's also the cochair of the Cultural Heritage at Risk Project, J. Paul Getty Trust, and Eminent Scholar at Kyung Hee University, Seoul. Weiss is a past Andrew Carnegie Fellow and president of the International Studies Association, in addition to being the recipient of its "2016 Distinguished IO Scholar Award." While chair of the Academic Council on the UN System, editor of Global Governance, and research director of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty, he has written extensively about multilateralism, international peace and security, humanitarian action, and sustainable development. His latest authored books are The "Third" United Nations: How a Knowledge Ecology Helps the UN Think, Rethinking Global Governance, and Would the World Be Better without the UN?
