Maitreyi Koduganti Venkata

Maitreyi Koduganti is a researcher with the Practice team at Indian Institute for Human Settlement (IIHS), Bangalore. An alumnus from UNESCO IHE Institute for Water Education, her work is situated at the intersection of climate adaptation, water and, gender studies. She also works across the themes of urban water governance, vulnerability assessment, process documentation and research-into-use, where she engages in working at the ground level along with local communities to bring about small, yet meaningful changes. In addition to this, she heads Water Youth Network (WYN), a Netherlands based youth organization that brings young people work together to become agents of change and ultimately improve the world’s water situation.
Her passion towards action-oriented research and putting research into use led her to developing documentaries and participatory games alongside IIHS, Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre (RCRCC) and UNESCO-IHE Delft. She is also engaged in writing several academic articles, blogs and op-eds around climate change and resource management.
