John Gans

John Gans writes and teaches about US foreign policy and serves as a fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Perry World House. Following the September 11th attacks, he served as a press liaison at Ground Zero, launching a nearly 25-year career in strategic communications in government and the private sector, including roles at the Pentagon, US Treasury Department, and US Navy. Gans teaches graduate and undergraduate classes on the international order, American foreign policy, and national security, and is a fellow at the German Marshall Fund. He is the author of White House Warriors: How the National Security Council Transformed the American Way of War.
