Darin LaHood has represented Illinois in Congress since 2015, first serving the 18th district and currently representing the 16th district. He serves on the Committee on Ways and Means, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. Throughout his tenure, LaHood has focused on agriculture, economic development, fiscal responsibility, and national security. Prior to entering Congress, LaHood served in the Illinois State Senate from 2011 to 2015 and worked as a federal prosecutor for the US Department of Justice, serving as chief terrorism prosecutor in Las Vegas.
