Human Resources (HR) interns should have an interest in human resources, HR technology, HR analytics, learning, and development or talent acquisition. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about and experience the work of the Human Resources department at a non-profit think tank. This experience will provide active engagement with the HR team and participation in various HR activities, including benefits administration, learning & development, recruitment, and HR analytics and reporting.

The intern performs a variety of tasks, including:
  • Assist in maintaining employee or department records, and information in a confidential manner
  • Compile and organize HR metrics into excel based reports (onboarding surveys, training reports, recruitment reports, etc.)
  • Support with recruitment needs (sourcing candidates for open positions, conducting reference checks, scheduling interviews/screenings, recruitment advertisements/posts)
  • Preparing letters, forms, or templates to support recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, etc.
  • Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of implementations or new processes (e.g., open enrollment, time-off/accruals, etc.)
  • Creating presentations
  • Provide support for the internship program administration
  • Learn from mentors at the peer and leadership level
  • Engage in weekly check-in sessions with their supervisor
  • Engage in professional development opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate junior, senior or graduate student
  • Ability to execute work with great attention to detail, discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills, communication, and analytical skills
  • Experience in professional settings
  • Flexible, positive, and team-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

*We require anyone entering our office to be fully vaccinated. You are considered "fully vaccinated" two weeks after completing the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after receiving a single dose of a one-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson/Janssen).
