Dr. Vali Nasr is the Majid Khadduri Professor of International Affairs and Middle East Studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS, where he also served as Dean from 2012–2019 and co-directs the SAIS Rethinking Iran Initiative. He served as Senior Advisor to U.S. Special Representative Richard Holbrooke on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and has authored several books, including his most recent, Iran's Grand Strategy: A Political History.
