Riya Patel

Riya Patel holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from DePaul University. During her academic career, she participated in a short-term study abroad program in Germany, where she explored cutting-edge technologies and innovations in product development. 

Riya began her career at Baker Tilly, where she contributed to the Government and Non-Profit group, gaining foundational experience in public sector auditing. She joined RSM in June 2021, where she specialized in External Audits within the Financial Services Practice, working extensively with Hedge Funds, Fund of Funds, and Private Equity clients. Her tenure at RSM also included a rotational consulting assignment with the Blackstone Real Estate Group, deepening her exposure to strategic advisory work. Further expanding her global perspective, Riya participated in a secondment program with RSM Australia, spending three months in Perth, WA, during the Australian Busy season. There, she focused on audits in the Mining, Energy, and Government sectors. 

In March 2025, Riya joined William Blair as a member of the Internal Audit team. In her current role, she is responsible for conducting Operational and Regulatory Audits, leveraging her multifaceted experience to strengthen internal controls and compliance frameworks.
