Matthew Messner

Matthew Messner is a licensed architect, critic, and educator. Currently, Messner is Founding Principal of DRUMLIN, a Chicago-based Architecture firm. He is the former Midwest Editor of the Architect’s Newspaper and has served on numerous award and fellowship juries. His designs and nearly 500 writings have been published and featured in international galleries and publications, to include the Storefront for Art and Architecture, the Graham Foundation, the Art Institute, the Chicago Architecture Biennial, and the Venice Biennale. For nearly 10 years Messner taught design and theory at IIT and UW Milwaukee. Messner is a Descendant of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin and an Army Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (’09), Afghanistan.
