Lisa Franchetti

Admiral Lisa Franchetti made history in November 2023 by becoming the first woman to lead the US Navy as Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), and the first woman to join the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A four-star admiral, she is also the first CNO to be commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program, receiving her commission through Northwestern University’s NROTC program. Most recently, Admiral Franchetti served as Vice Chief of Naval Operations. She also is the former head of the US 6th Fleet and US naval forces in South Korea and has served as an aircraft carrier strike commander
