John E. Rielly
President Emeritus, Chicago Council on Global Affairs
President Emeritus from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and adjunct professor of political science for the Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies at Northwestern University, Illinois. He is also a visiting professor at the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Affairs of the University of California. He worked during thirty years at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, as Executive Director (1971-1974) and then as President (1974-2001). He also served in the U.S. Department of State (1962-1963). He was Foreign Policy Assistant to Senator and Vice President Hubert Humphrey. He obtained a B.A. at St. John’s University, Collegeville (Minnesota) and a PhD in political science at Harvard University.
