Jesse Terry
Intern, Center on Global Food and Agriculture

Jesse joined the Council in August 2023 as an intern with the Center on Global Food and Agriculture. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Jesse is currently a junior at Macalester College, where he majors in Political Science and International Studies. His interest in food and agriculture stems from the confluence of interrelated issues relevant to the subject, including development, climate change, labor, migration, equity, and public health. This interest was sparked last spring in a Global Food Studies class at Macalester along with an internship at the Minnesota Senate, where he researched and drafted legislation relating to sustainable agricultural practices. Terry is a leader in the Twin Cities hub of the Sunrise Movement, a national, youth-led movement against climate change. His other experiences include internships at the Consortium on Gender, Security and Human Rights and the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce, as well as a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA doing education work in Philadelphia. In his free time, Terry enjoys playing and watching soccer, reading, and exploring new places.
