Dana El Kurd specializes in comparative politics and international relations of the Arab world, particularly in how authoritarianism endures, and how societies meaningfully challenge it. She holds a PhD in government from the University of Texas at Austin. Professor El Kurd has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Global Studies Quarterly and PS Political Science & Politics, among others. Her book, Polarized and Demobilized: Legacies of Authoritarianism in Palestine, was published in 2020 by Oxford University Press. Her next projects include a solo-authored project on the impact of Palestine on the global order.
