Betsey Stevenson

Betsey Stevenson is a professor of public policy and economics at the University of Michigan. Her research investigates the evolution of the US labor market and how it is shaped by public policy. She served under President Obama as a member of his Council of Economic Advisers from 2013 to 2015 and as the chief economist of the US Department of Labor from 2010 to 2011. More recently, she served as a member of the Department of the Treasury transition team for the Biden-Harris administration.
