About This Event

What does it look like when a city's public infrastructure rises to meet the needs of those who have just arrived, and what happens when the need surpasses what it can?

Join fellow Emerging Leaders alumni for an exclusive tour of Little Harbor Academy (LHA) in Rogers Park, and a conversation on immigration to Chicago, the limits of public infrastructure, and the vital role nonprofit organizations play in bridging the gap for newcomers.

LHA is the result of the Chicago Refugee Coalition's innovative approach to meeting the needs of newcomer families. By listening directly to refugee families, CRC identified a significant gap in access to affordable, high-quality childcare and holistic family support and built LHA to fill it. Offering a transformative model that empowers both families and the next generation, LHA stands as a powerful example of what community-centered problem-solving can look like.

After the tour, we're happy to provide local restaurant recommendations, so you can continue the conversation over dinner!
