About This Event
As the world’s most populous country and fifth largest economy, India has immense economic potential. However, its economy is still one-fifth the size of China’s and its growth is too slow to provide jobs for millions of young Indians. How will Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent narrow win and a weakened Bharatiya Janata Party shape India’s economic prospects? How can India overcome intense global competition, rising protectionism, and automation to secure a prosperous and sustainable future for its vast population? Join the Council for a conversation with Raghuram Rajan, author and former governor of the Reserve Bank of India, as we discuss India’s economic trajectory and what to expect given the new political reality.
