About This Event

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon—one of the seven prestigious World Marathon Majors—draws elite athletes and tens of thousands of runners from around the globe each October. Beyond its reputation as a test of human endurance, the marathon is a powerful driver of international connection and economic growth, contributing $547 million to Chicago’s economy last year alone. Over 26.2 miles, participants from more than 100 countries run side by side, exemplifying cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared achievement. Join us after our city's 48th year of hosting as we explore how the Chicago Marathon emerged as a global sporting event and discuss its diplomatic, cultural, and economic significance on the world stage.
