About the Speakers

Peter Mandelson assumed the role of UK Ambassador to the United States in February 2025, following his appointment in December 2024. He previously served as European Commissioner for Trade from 2004 to 2008 and in senior cabinet positions under Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
President & Chief Executive Officer, Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Dr. Leslie Vinjamuri joined the Council in 2025 as the president and chief executive officer, after previously serving as director of the US and the Americas program at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, known as Chatham House, in London.
