Julien Rosan
Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada in Chicago
Julien Rosan joined Global Affairs Canada in 2019 and serves as trade commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago. In this role, he is responsible for trade and innovation initiatives to support Canadian technology companies seeking to do business in the US market. He simultaneously serves as the cochair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee at the Canadian Consulate. Prior to joining Global Affairs Canada, Rosan served as business development director for Business France and chaired the Young Professionals Committee of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago. He has also worked for a global market intelligence firm in Europe, Australia, and North America.
Born and raised in Paris, France, Rosan has called Chicago home for over 10 years. He prides himself on his Caribbean roots from Guadeloupe and Martinique and now considers himself an integral part of the fabric of American society. This crossroad of cultures matches the motto that has driven him both personally and professionally: "think global, act local." His international background and expertise as a professional are also embodied by the diverse languages he speaks, including French, English, Spanish, and French Creole.
Rosan holds a master's degree in international trade administration from University Paris XII as well as a master of business administration in marketing from the INSEEC MSc and MBA business school in France.
