Alaina Hampton
Political Consultant and Strategist
Alaina Hampton is a Democratic political consultant and strategist with more than a decade of experience working in political and advocacy campaigns. Hampton’s career focuses on government reform in Cook County–supporting reform-minded and ethical leaders. As a political advisor, her responsibilities include building and leading campaign strategies and oversight of entire campaign operations, including overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets. Her focus on government reform and women’s advocacy catapulted when she took legal action against her former employer for retaliation after she became a whistleblower on sexual harassment. Since she came forward publicly with her story in 2018, she has worked to help other victims and survivors of sexual harassment to secure legal representation and other support. Hampton successfully managed Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi’s 2022 reelection campaign and now serves as the campaign manager for Clayton Harris III, the progressive candidate running for Cook County State’s Attorney. In 2022, Hampton spent a semester at the American University in Cairo studying global affairs, and she continues to study Arabic. Hampton was named one of Chicago’s 50 Most Powerful Women by Chicago Magazine in 2020 and was recognized in the 2022 class of Crain’s Chicago Business’ 40 Under 40.
