Wall Street Journal Editor-at-Large Gerard Baker, Council Board Member and Executive Director of the Hellenic American Leadership Council Endy Zemenides, Council Senior Nonresident Fellow Alexander Cooley, and New York Times Chief White House Correspondent Peter Baker joined Council President and CEO Leslie Vinjamuri at the Delphi Economic Forum for a discussion on US foreign policy under President Donald Trump, presented in partnership with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Leslie Vinjamuri headshot
Dr. Leslie Vinjamuri joined the Council in 2025 as the president and chief executive officer, after previously serving as director of the US and the Americas program at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, known as Chatham House, in London. She is Professor of Practice in International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS University of London.

Endy Zemenides is the executive director of the Hellenic American Leadership Council (HALC), a national Greek-American advocacy organization dedicated to promoting human rights and the rule of law internationally, in addition to building bridges between communities in the United States. Before joining HALC, Zemenides practiced law in Chicago, specializing in municipal law and government relations.

Alexander Cooley is the Claire Tow Professor of Political Science at Barnard College and former director of Columbia University’s Harriman Institute for the Study of Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe. His research focuses on sovereignty, governance, and political development in post-Communist states, especially in Central Asia and the Caucasus. He joined the Chicago Council as a senior nonresident fellow on Eurasia affairs in 2025.

Peter Baker
Chief White House Correspondent, The New York Times
In addition to The New York Times, Peter Baker is also a political analyst for MSNBC and a panelist on PBS's Washington Week. He's the author and coauthor of multiple books, including his most recent, Impeachment: An American History. In 2007 Baker was honored with the Gerald R. Ford Journalism Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency, and the Aldo Beckman Memorial Award in 2011.
