He is also a member of the Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters for the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, which provides guidance to the secretary general on issues related to arms limitations and disarmament. Karim is a former Egyptian diplomat with over 25 years of service in the Egyptian diplomatic corps.
