Richard Joseph

Richard Joseph previously taught at Emory University, Dartmouth College, and the University of Ibadan (Nigeria). Joseph has devoted his scholarly career to the study of politics and governance in Africa with a special focus on democratic transitions, state building, and conflict resolution. He served as a Fellow of The Carter Center and Program Officer of the Ford Foundation. He emphasizes closing the gap between scholarship and policy engagement and access to learning resources.
