About This Event
Greg Moriarty AO, Ambassador of Australia to the United States, joins the Council for a private afternoon roundtable discussion on the US-Australia alliance, the trilateral AUKUS partnership, and defense and security developments in the Indo-Pacific. The roundtable will be chaired by Council Vice President of Research for Geostrategy and Diplomacy and Marshall M. Bouton Senior Fellow for Asia Studies Raymond Kuo.
This in-person discussion will focus on US-Australia relations and will take place at the Chicago Council’s offices at 130 East Randolph Street, Suite 1650.
About the Speakers
Ambassador of Australia to the United States
Greg Moriarty AO is the Ambassador of Australia to the US, appointed to the position in 2026. He previously served as secretary of the Department of Defense from 2017 to 2026, where he was responsible for strategy, policy, budget and resource allocation and stewardship of the Department of Defense.
Vice President of Research for Geostrategy and Diplomacy; Marshall M. Bouton Senior Fellow, Asian Studies, Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Dr. Raymond Kuo joined the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in 2026 as Vice President of Research, Geostrategy. Kuo also serves as the Marshall M. Bouton Senior Fellow for Asia Studies at the Council, focusing on US-China competition, alliance dynamics, and regional order in the Indo-Pacific.
