About This Event
Germany's political mood is being tested on two fronts: At home, state elections in the eastern part of the country threaten to bring the far-right AfD into political leadership, reopening the debate over the resilience of the German political center. Abroad, questions are mounting over the reliability of the United States as a partner in terms of both economics and security policy.
To discuss the domestic German political situation and the state of the transatlantic relationship, Dr. Christoph von Marschall, Chief Diplomatic Correspondent of Berlin’s leading daily paper Der Tagesspiegel, joins the Council for a lunchtime roundtable discussion, held in partnership with the American Council on Germany. The roundtable will be chaired by Council Director for Public Opinion and Foreign Policy Craig Kafura.
This in-person discussion will take place at the Chicago Council’s offices at 130 East Randolph Street, Suite 1650.
