Connecting the Supply Chain Crisis to the World Economy
Phil Levy, senior economist for trade under President George W. Bush, joins the Council for a members-only discussion on what current disruptions to trade reveal about the global economy.
About This Event
Computer chip shortages, port congestion, and a shortage of truck drivers are signs of global supply chains under strain. Disruption to the cross-border movement of goods is further raising prices for consumers, fueling an inflationary environment in the United States and other leading economies as they attempt to recover from waves of COVID-19 lockdowns. Chicago Council members are invited to engage directly with Phil Levy, senior economist for trade under President George W. Bush and Flexport’s Chief Economist, on the supply chain crunch, the outlook for 2022, and how individuals and businesses are responding.
