Arshia Wajid
Founder and Board Member, American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP)
Arshia Wajid is a Healthcare Executive with nearly 20 years of experience contributing to transformational journeys for many healthcare organizations, including Northwestern Medicine, Franciscan Health, Rush University System, Advocate Health, and Huron Consulting. She has a proven record of accomplishments in clinical operations, program development, public health, process improvement, and performance management.
In 2004, Wajid established a national non-profit organization, American Muslim Health Professionals, and was recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Health, Xavier Becerra, as top 15 women in the nation for her extraordinary leadership. In 2015, she was invited to a private roundtable at the White House with former President Barack Obama to discuss the challenges facing Muslim health professionals.
Wajid completed a master's degree in business administration and public health from the University of Illinois and a fellowship in hospital administration at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Her personal interest in global health has led her to volunteer with medical relief missions in Haiti, Bangladesh, India, and Jordan. Wajid is a recipient of a number of awards and has been featured in the Chicago Sun-Times, CBS Chicago News, and the U.S. Department of State’s ShareAmerica platform.
