The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is excited to announce the relaunch of its Global Economy Roundtable Series. This high-level, invitation-only series will convene local economists, business executives, and industry leaders for candid conversations with leading national and international figures in economic policy and global financial affairs.

The Roundtable will be chaired by Brent Neiman, the Edward Eagle Brown Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and former deputy undersecretary for international finance at the US Treasury. Michael Moskow, distinguished fellow at the Council and former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, previously served as chair. Prior participants include central bank governors and chairs, world-class economists, ambassadors, CEOs of major multinational corporations, sitting and former US Cabinet members, and many others.

“Today economic policy and strategy are intimately linked to the global geopolitical and geoeconomic context. Technological change holds great promise, but together with a disruptive trade policy, also carries considerable risk, leaving governments, businesses and consumers struggling to identify the optimal strategy of engagement,” said Council President and CEO Leslie Vinjamuri. “This series will provide a space for dialogue and debate that informs strategies for innovation, diversification, and resilience.”

The first roundtable in this revitalized roundtable series will be held over breakfast on November 5. To ensure an open dialogue, it will operate under the Chatham House Rule.
