The Chicago Council on Global Affairs welcomes Katrina Ferreyra, who joined the Council as vice president of development on May 18. Ferreyra brings more than two decades of experience in nonprofit advancement and philanthropic leadership to the Council. 

“Katrina is exactly the kind of leader the Council needs at this moment. Her proven ability to align philanthropic investment with institutional mission will be essential as we work to expand the Council's reach and impact,” said Leslie Vinjamuri, president and CEO of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the Council.'" 

Most recently, Ferreyra served as chief development officer at After School Matters, where she led a successful $32 million capital campaign that exceeded its original goal, securing resources for a new building and strengthening the organization's long-term sustainability. She has held senior advancement roles at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and the International School Nido de Águilas in Santiago, Chile, where she led fundraising and external affairs.

Ferreyra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies and Russian Language from Duke University, a Master of Arts in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a certificate in school management and leadership from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School.
