Chet Lee Joins the Chicago Council on Global Affairs as U.S. Navy Federal Executive Fellow
The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is proud to announce that Commander Chet Lee has joined the Council as our fifth U.S. Navy Federal Executive Fellow for the Lester Crown Center. The Council is one of only 13 institutions to be selected to host a Navy Federal Executive Fellow.
As a career Naval Officer, Commander Lee has deployed to the Middle East, South America, and Asia. He recently served at the United States Embassy in New Delhi, India, directing United States Navy and Indian Navy cooperative efforts. During his last stateside posting, he briefed the Chief of Naval Operations on geopolitical developments in Asia, partner Navy perspectives, and future collaborative efforts. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a MA in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He speaks Thai and Indonesian.
"I’m excited to serve as the next U.S. Navy Federal Executive Fellow at the Council," said Commander Lee. "I relish the opportunity to share the great work that the Navy is doing worldwide for Chicagoans and getting to know the Midwest."
The U.S. Navy Federal Executive Fellowship aims to cultivate naval strategists by placing them with world-class policy and research institutions. It encourages fellows to "think big" and allows them to exercise intellectual freedom in diverse research areas to improve their interdisciplinary understanding of the global security landscape.
