Maru Sefami
Director, Individual and Special Giving

Maru Sefami joined the Council in 2025 as the director for individual and special giving. Previously, Sefami spent three years in various roles at the Department of Defense. Most recently, she served as the special assistant to the secretary of the Army where she worked on soldier quality of life issues and oversaw congressional correspondence on behalf of the secretary. Her work at the Pentagon spanned several policy issues such as cyber policy, department budget reform, and industry engagement.
In addition to her government experience, Sefami worked as the membership manager at the Truman National Security Project and has staffed political campaigns. She graduated with a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
