Tim O’Brien joined the Chicago Council as a public opinion and US foreign policy intern in January 2025. He is an incoming MA candidate in international relations at the University of Chicago, where he plans to study regime transition, quantitative methods, and international political economy. O’Brien’s prior experience includes research on political violence at the Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST) and independent thesis study on globalization and democracy. He holds a BA in political science from the University of Chicago.
