Aziz Huq

Aziz Z. Huq is a scholar of US and comparative constitutional law. His recent work concerns democratic backsliding and AI regulation. He is the co-author with Tom Ginsburg of the award-winning book How to Save a Constitutional Democracy (2018), and his scholarship is published in other books and leading law and social science journals. He also writes for outlets like Politico, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and others. Previously, Huq was counsel and then director of the Brennan Center’s Liberty and National Security Project, litigating cases in both the US Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and he researched constitutional design and implementation in Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.
