Jonathan Schachter, a senior nonresident fellow at the Council, served as an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from 2013 to 2018. His portfolio included US-Israel relations, Israel-Diaspora affairs, and briefing Congressional and other senior international delegations.

Dr. Tamara Cofman Wittes became the fourth president of the National Democratic Institute in 2024. Before joining the Institute, she served as director of Foreign Assistance in the US Department of State.
