About This Event

On Wednesday, July 8, Samir Saran will join the Council for a private lunch roundtable at the Consulate General of India. The roundtable will be chaired by Council President and CEO Leslie Vinjamuri.
 
This event will be a networking lunch centered around a discussion of the ongoing geopolitical crisis and tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. CDT. Lunch will be provided.

Samir Saran is president of the Observer Research Foundation, India's premier think tank. His research focuses on global governance, climate and energy policy, technology policy, and India's foreign policy. He curates the Raisina Dialogue, India's annual flagship platform on geopolitics and geo-economics, and founded CyFy, an annual conference on cybersecurity and internet governance.

Dr. Leslie Vinjamuri joined the Council in 2025 as the president and chief executive officer, after previously serving as director of the US and the Americas program at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, known as Chatham House, in London. She is Professor of Practice in International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS University of London.
