Tina Kotrych
Senior Investment Officer, Consulate General of Canada in Chicago
Tina Kotrych is the senior investment officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago. In this role, she leverages broad networks on both sides of the border to help Midwest-based firms navigate all aspects of setting up and expanding operations in Canada. In addition to her foreign direct investment (FDI) expertise, Kotrych also has a keen sense for policy analysis built over a decade of advocacy efforts promoting Government of Canada trade priorities.
As co-president of Firebird Community Arts' executive board, Kotrych sees art as a tool for social justice. She’s proudly served on the board of Firebird Community Arts since 2017 and embraces its mission to empower and connect Chicagoans impacted by structural and individual trauma through the healing practice of glassblowing and ceramics at its studio in East Garfield Park.
Kotrych is a cum laude graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in public sector management and a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) alumnus, having gained more than 30,000 vertical feet (cumulatively) backpacking in India's Himalayan mountain range. Prior to joining the Consulate, Kotrych led United Way fundraising campaigns at some of Chicago's largest employers, fundraised for Chicago Women’s Health Center, shared her love of the outdoors at Patagonia, and performed national service in AmeriCorps.
