As primary outside counsel at one of the city’s premier labor and employment law firms, Tejas Shah’s career provides him with the opportunity to combine two of his passions – immigration law and civic engagement. At Franczek Radelet P.C., Shah serves as counsel to Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, school districts, and universities, advising them on strategies for hiring top international talent, complying with workplace mandates in a high-risk environment, and ensuring educational opportunities for vulnerable populations. Shah also maintains a strong commitment to individual representation, pro bono work, and the protection of public values. He recently co-chaired a nationwide naturalization drive for the South Asian Bar Association of North America, which assisted several hundred eligible individuals apply for US citizenship. He continues ties to the Consular Corps in Chicago through prior affiliation with the Illinois State Bar Association’s Section of Immigration and International Law. Shah also serves on the board of the nonprofit Indo-American Center and is the co-chair of diversity at his law firm. He received a BS in Economics from Duke University and a JD from George Washington National Law School. He has lived in India and the US Virgin Islands and is a former fellow with the Amy Biehl Foundation Trust in George, South Africa.
