Shima Rayej

Shima Rayej is the co-founder and chief product officer at Safe Rate, an AI-native mortgage technology firm helping borrowers navigate the complex process of shopping for a mortgage loan. Before Safe Rate, Rayej was the co-founder and managing partner at Persee Ventures, a fintech development firm helping banks, asset managers, and high-growth early-stage companies launch new products. She started her career as a robotics engineer, where she built path planning and navigation algorithms for self-driving tanks for the Department of Defense. Rayej has also held roles in finance, including structuring residential mortgage-backed securities at Deutsche Bank as well as a venture capital associate at OCA Ventures. She received her BS in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her MBA in analytic finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
