Reza Yassari
Director of Spinal Oncology, Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Reza Yassari directs the spinal oncology unit at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, in addition to being a professor of neurosurgery and the director of the residency program. He earned his MD from the University of Vienna and his MS from the University of Chicago. He was a fellow at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics and previously taught at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery, as faculty in the spine division. He has published extensively in neuroscience and has been awarded numerous scholarships and awards in the U.S. and abroad. He works as a volunteer for the Virtue Foundation, where his main interest has been the development of sustainable educational and medical infrastructures in developing countries, with special focus on Chiapas, Mexico.
