Raja Krishnamoorthi
United States Congressman for Illinois’ 8th District
Raja Krishnamoorthi was elected to Congress in 2016 and is now in his fourth term representing Illinois’ 8th District. He serves as Ranking Member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, making him the first South Asian American to lead a Congressional Committee. He also serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Before being elected to Congress, Representative Krishnamoorthi worked on a range of issues over the course of his career in law, public service, and the private sector, including corruption, affordable housing, and renewable energy. He is a member of the Emerging Leaders Class of 2010.
