Michael Hubbard

Prior to joining Thrivent Mutual Funds—a subsidiary of Thrivent Financial—Michael Hubbard was an analyst covering U.S. small cap financials and real estate at William Blair Investment Management. While in this role, he founded and led the company’s veteran business resource group and served as one of the founding board members of the Alliance Board. Before working at Thrivent, he served as an emerging markets research associate for William Blair’s Emerging Markets Small Cap Growth fund. Hubbard is a member of William Blair’s Community Impact Steering Committee and currently serves as a mentor at Bunker Labs. He also serves as lead director of the Veterans Leadership Council, an organization that is primarily focused on creating locally thriving and nationally connected networks of military veterans who are leaders in business and government, and dedicated to establishing a leadership voice for the current veteran community.

Hubbard served in Afghanistan as an infantry platoon commander and as an Afghan National Army advisor in the United States Marine Corps. Prior to the Marine Corps, he started two businesses and held several leadership roles with nonprofit organizations, including Grace Episcopal Church in Hinsdale, IL and the Chicago Dance Marathon. He holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Iowa.
