Mark R. Williams

Mark Williams is the CEO of Magna Legal Services, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. He previously served as president and COO of PPL Group and Big Shoulders Capital, and before that, as president and CEO of Kroll Ontrack, a global legal technology company with over 1,200 employees in 35 offices across 20 countries. After Kroll Ontrack was acquired and became KLDiscovery, Williams continued as president, COO, and board member.

Earlier, Williams was managing director at Huron Consulting, where he led the Discovery Services Group, including multiple business units, data analytics teams, and nine global review centers with 1,500 attorneys. He also served as senior vice president at Axiom Global, where he was on the management/planning committee and led the managed discovery division, LawyerLink.

Williams spent 18 years at DLA Piper as a partner in the corporate and finance group, hiring partner, and managing partner in China. He also opened the firm’s Doha office in Qatar and co-founded an India-based legal process outsourcing business.

He holds a JD from Columbia Law School, an MBA from the University of Maryland/Beijing University for International Business and Economics, an MSc in international relations from the London School of Economics, and a BA in political science from the University of Illinois.

Williams has lived and worked in China, Qatar, England, Spain, South Africa, Korea, and Thailand, and has traveled to over 150 countries.
