Lauren Bean Buitta
Founder and CEO, Girl Security
Lauren Buitta is founder and CEO of Girl Security, a nonpartisan, non-profit organization closing the gender gap in national security through learning, training, and mentoring support. Prior to this, Buitta served as principal of Stele Consulting, LLC. Buitta has over 15 years of complex project management experience in public policy, homeland security, and national security. Guided by a firm belief in the power of cities to create local policies that can inform an enhanced national strategy, Buitta works with clients to develop data-driven, innovative policies in such areas as governance, urban security, and social policy. Buitta holds a BA from Boston College and a JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She has been awarded fellowships and appointments with the Truman National Security Project, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the McCormick Tribune Foundation, and the ABA Standing Committee on Law and National Security.
