Kendra Stead

Kendra Stead has extensive experience in every phase of litigation and typically represents companies and professional services firms in commercial disputes, securities litigation, and professional liability actions. She counsels corporate clients regarding their contractual rights and obligations and regularly pursues and defends large-scale contract disputes. She represents domestic and foreign accounting firms in both litigation and regulatory matters. Stead maintains an active pro bono practice concentrated on assisting Spanish-speaking clients in immigration matters. She is a member of Sidley’s mentoring and technology committees and is active in the firm’s sustainability initiatives and recruiting programs.
Before law school, Stead taught high school mathematics in North Carolina and Maryland. She holds a BS in mathematics and a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She earned her JD from Northwestern University School of Law and remains active in the law school community, including through recruiting and mentorship programs.
She and her husband are involved in school programming and fundraising with Chicago public schools where her two sons attend.
