Kathleen Slingerland

Kathleen Slingerland is a manager of regulatory affairs at Nature's Fynd, a company that develops a sustainable microbe-based alternative protein for use in a variety of foods. She engages with various stakeholders to create a favorable regulatory environment and supports scientific innovation. Prior to her current role, Slingerland held toxicology and regulatory positions in global food, chemical, and medical device industries.
Throughout her career, Slingerland has managed strategic complex issues and worked with governments and associations around the world to influence new and emerging regulations and policies on a variety of scientific topics, including nutrition, food ingredient approvals, new chemical management, biotechnology, and international trade. She is an avid believer that innovations and partnerships can help solve the world’s greatest challenges and strives to make a positive impact on people and the planet.
Slingerland holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in global policy from Northwestern University, a Master of Public Health Degree in environmental health sciences from the University of Minnesota (with a focus in toxicology & global health), and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, cell, and molecular biology from Drake University.
